My name is Vanessa Ghofrani. I am a registered dietitian with a Master's of Science in Nutrition and Dietetics from Meredith College (Raleigh, NC).
I chose this field because nutrition is such a fundamental part of health. The way we eat can have a profound effect on our wellbeing over the course of our lives. My mission is to help people reap the long and short term benefits of a healthy eating pattern and ultimately feel their best.
I believe each individual is the expert of their own lives and so I approach coaching as a partnership. Instead of telling my clients what to do, I provide support and guidance as we figure out together what works best for them. There is not one right way to do things.
A little bit about me, I have been vegan since 2017. It started with a concern for the treatment of animals, however my understanding has expanded as I learned about the impact of a western diet (high in animal products) on the environment, to our health, and the world in general.
I’ve felt like nutrition was a confusing whirl of contradicting information, maybe you have too. I’ve gone to the grocery store and stared at the cereal aisle for far too long wondering, “which one is healthy, vegan, affordable, and delicious?”, and spent way too much time comparing nutrition labels (although I admit I enjoy the process now). As a nutrition coach, my goal is help you clear up any confusion and feel confident in how you fuel your body. Whether you choose a fully plant-based diet or not, I'm here to support you to feel the best you've ever felt!
Besides nutrition, some of my hobbies include Latin dancing, painting, trying new recipes, and enjoying outdoors (hiking, running a trail, or playing frisbee).
Thanks again for being here!
